- Day 1 Bishkek
- Early morning arrival. Airport transfer to Silk Road Lodge Hotel. Sightseeing in Bishkek.
Bishkek cannot claim to be one of the major cities of the world, like London, Paris or New York. It is, however, the capital city of Kyrgyzstan and does have a number of important and interesting buildings, monuments, parks, museums, galleries, theatres and other places worth seeing or visiting.- Day 2 Naryn
- Bishkek - Kochkor - Naryn Lunch in a homestay in Kochkor. Demonstration of traditional carpet (shyrdak) making, folklore show and yurt erection. Accommodation in Celestial Mountains Guest House.
Authentic Kyrgyz life style with its rich traditions could be observed in Kochkor village. One could take part in traditional carpet making and make his own felt carpet to take home as a souvenir. Naryn is a long, thin town that straddles the fast flowing naryn River and is set between high, steep cliffs.- Day 3 Tash-Rabat
- Naryn - Tash-Rabat - Naryn Early morning depart to visit ancient caravanserai Tash-Rabat. Accommodation in Celestial Mountains Guest House.
This is a carefully restored stone building that once housed an inn on the Great Silk Road. Its date of origin is strictly unknown - but there is archaeological evidence to suggest that the site was occupied in the 10th century. There is evidence that it was a place of both rest and worship and would have served to protect caravans to and from China from both the ravages of the weather and of bandits ??” from before the time of either Tamerlane or Genghis Khan.- Day 4 Son-Kul
- Naryn - Son-Kul Accommodation in a yurt camp.
Son Kul is a mountain lake in the Central Tian Shan range, virtually in the centre of Kyrgyzstan. One translation of the name is The Last Lake.- Day 5 Karakol
- Son-Kul - Bokombaevo - Djety-Oguz - Karakol Eagle hunting in Bokombaevo. Hotel accommodation.
About 25 km South West of Karakol is a lush valley with some stricking red sandstone rock formations, the Seven Bulls from which the valley takes its name. As you approach the valley, you pass another rock formation which resembles a ?«broken heart?» These two rock formations have almost become symbols of the Issyk Kul region and are favourite images for photographs and paintings.- Day 6 Burana tower
- Karakol - Cholpon-Ata - Burana tower - Bishkek Visiting open-air museum of petroglyphs in Cholpon-Ata and Burana tower near Tokmok. Accommodation in Silk Road Lodge Hotel. Morning transfer to the airport.
Cholpon-ata is the largest town on the northern shore and the center of the resort zone. A remarkable open-air art gallery of stone inscriptions is located just north of the town, said to date from 500 BC - 100 AD, they depict wolves, long-horned ibex, goats, horses, snow leopards, sacrifices and some hunting scenes. Just 15 km outside Tokmok there is Burana Tower (XI C.), which marks the original site of the Karakhanid town of Balasagun, founded in 960. The Karakhanid empire used to occupy much of Central Asia, covering an area large than modern India.
